Hello, there! I am Susan Martz, a holistic psychotherapist seeing clients at Wellness on Walnut.  I will partner with you to help you feel your best! At times, everyone needs a listening ear that is caring, confidential, and who takes a team-approach to solving your problems.

Does life have your feeling down, anxious, or worried or do you see areas where you could live a happier, more grounded life, but you need some support to get there? Come see me! I take a team approach to counseling and will support you so you can feel and think in a healthier, more positive way.  Your first session is complementary so you can find out if I fit the needs you have in a therapist. I am a deeply caring, non-judgmental listener whose warmth you are sure to feel the first time we meet! I have a sweet and caring approach, but also will help you cut through the crap that is not serving you or your teenager.

Am I the therapist for you? I love helping clients who feel depressed, anxious, have experienced trauma, or feel as if they are just not thriving and living a life of ease.  I do this through many counseling modalities but I focus on a holistic approach using yoga therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and client-centered interventions that most importantly, you are comfortable with.  My trauma-informed training will help you quickly gain tools for linking your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and will begin to relieve symptoms of stress.

I have a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and also am a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance.  I’ve worked with children and families in schools for over 10 years.

Since I take a collaborative approach with clients, you will be involved in all steps in the therapy process, and decision-making for counseling sessions.  As the client, you have the power to choose what we discuss each time we meet.  And, if you have any questions, I will work with you to answer them so you are comfortable, and getting what you need from the therapy sessions.  I love chatting about current psychological research, and will provide you the best tools for the challenge you are facing.  My goal for all of the folks I work with is to give them a sense of grounded energy, decreased sadness and/or fear, and empowerment to live your best life possible!
